This is not happening for all users however since the most typical application usually requires the extender to be placed around 40 feet from the router and closer or about the same from the dead zone.
Even so there are still few areas in the same zone with poor coverage and speed wise they will work best from around 25 to 40 feet while rapidly decreasing after, even if you have a decent signal.
