The Gopro Hero 4 is a small hand held video recording device. So small that it can literally fit in the palm of your hand. Gopro is known for its tough durable design and its ability to go just about anywhere. Extreme sports fanatics have adopted this brand of camera for just those reasons. Its no coincidence that the Gopro black and silver also have these basic design features as well. The Gopro Black is the higher end of the two, with the silver being slightly less. Both Hero 4 black and silver models offer the ability to take pictures in 12 megapixels and almost all video is at the same rate. While the silver and black have many similarities lets find out what sets them apart.
The Hero 4 black is one of the first cameras to offer video in 4k at 30 fps this level of video quality is unmatched right now. The silver does not offer this option to its users. With its higher end video quality the black also offers better sound recording, low light video quality, and image performance. While the black wins over the silver in the performance ratings, there is one major deal breaker for the black when we compare it to the silver. The Silver features a built-in display with a touch screen while the black does not have a display at all. Besides this major difference mostly everything else is the same.

Conclusion
In all while the Gopro black has better video quality, better sound, and higher low light performance, I will still have to side with the silver in this comparison. While the black can shoot in 4k, most t.v’s and monitors right now do not have the ability to see the full effect of the 4k video quality. Most of all, being able to see what you capture in my opinion trumps all the cool extra quality you would get from the black. So if you’re in the market for a new Gopro, the black has higher performance but you can’t see what your doing. While with the silver you can see what your doing, and still performs up to par with some of the top quality cameras out there. I hope you enjoyed!
