The GoGroove FlexSmart x2 does what it was designed for, transmitting audio from your phone through a vehicle’s stereo. What makes it unique from other similar devices is the multiple ways in achieving audio. You can use Bluetooth by using the patch cable, use FM transmission when you plug in the phone’s headphone jack, or use the Bluetooth connection to rebroadcast wirelessly via FM transmission to the vehicle’s stereo. Both these the devices have the same physical appearance with the body atop the long, flexible stalk which joins with a 12 volt power plug integrating the power button. The physical connections are equally similar with the USB port needed for charging paired phones still at the main unit’s base. Both devices also features input and output 3.5 analog auxiliary connections at the base of the unit.
The differences become obvious when looking at the design first of all as the x3 looks more compact and sleeker than its predecessor, but that is simply due to the different white color used. The interface of the x3 is more streamlined by integrating the call buttons at the back of the device in the plastic which shields the LCD tuning display. The control knob which the x2 sports is absent on the x3, so no need to manually tune to radio stations as the x3 has different buttons and automatic scanning for radio channels.

Conclusion
Is there a winner when comparing the two devices? Sure it sells at the same price, but when looking at the already outstanding features of the x 2 there was not a lot of room for improvement. You would have expected the x 3 to rise head and shoulders above the previous model; however the only major difference is the auto tuning. This is apart from the difference in appearance with the x 3’s white design.
