Garmin has gained a lot of respect in the navigation technology. This is because of the several years of experience in portable devices in different sectors such as sports sector, aviation, marine and outdoor sectors. In the sports sector, Garmin’s productions range from the G6, G5 and G3. However, buyers find it difficult to understand the type of product they want and how it compares to others. This article compares the G3 and the G6.
To a large extent, the G3 is similar to the G5. However, the G6 is completely different. See also Garmin Approach G6 Vs SkyCaddie SGX. The G3 comes with 18,000+ Canadian and US courses. This means that if one intends to play European courses, they will have to acquire a different version. In terms of the screen size, the G3 measures 2.2” x3.9” x1.3” (5.5 x10.0 x3.3 cm). The G6, on the other hand offers 27000+ courses which can be enjoyed worldwide. This means that one will not have to buy a different version when they want to play European courses. This makes it a more appealing device. However, with this comes a hefty price tag. It measures 2.1 “x 3.7” x 0.8” (5.4 x 9.3 x 1.9).
Another key difference between the two is as regards to the battery life. The G3, similar to the G5 use the 2x AA batteries. This means that they have a low battery life, a feature that turns away clients. Although it is indicated that they should be used for up to 15 hours before refilling the battery, experience shows that the batteries run short quicker than expected. One therefore needs to have a spare pair when using the G3. This is different with the G6 which has an internal battery that is rechargeable. When new, the G6 comes with a 75 % charged battery. It is easily and quickly rechargeable, meaning that one will have it up to 100 percent quickly and use it right away.

Conclusion
The above comparison shows the differences that exist between the G3 and the G6. Although the G3 is cheap, the fact that the G6 offers more courses and can be used all over the world is more appealing. The G6’s battery life and its easiness to charge give it an advantage over the G3.
