Are you serious about improving your in-game performance? If you are pretty sure about going as a dedicated gamer, or perhaps a professional gamer, then you should begin to arm yourself with the equipment to train and enhance your gaming prowess. One of the equipment that can be a great help is a gaming eye tracker peripheral. Though it is still somewhat new to the field, it is indeed a very interesting product that is able to track and report your eye movements to be evaluated. As you have known, eye movements and sights are vital in competitive gaming, so having the proper sighting technique can be a tremendous boost that gives you a better edge over your opponents. Two popular brands of gaming eye trackers are SteelSeries Sentry and Tobii EyeX. As the two seem pretty much identical, which one should you choose?
Not only gamers, but also streamers benefit a lot from a gaming eye tracker. The device is able to study your gameplay in order to make you a better player. The device is also able to show your spectators where you are looking at each second in the game, delivering such a new level of insight that makes your channel entertaining as well as perspicacious. Both SteelSeries Sentry and Tobii EyeX are now compatible with various game titles already.
Both SteelSeries Sentry and Tobii EyeX basically have similar designs and configurations. Each of them has three infrared micro-projectors that scan your eyes 50 times per second (50 Hz sampling rate), tracking and recording key performance metrics to be analyzed. It has been confirmed that SteelSeries Sentry and Tobii EyeX both use the EyeX Engine and are essentially the same hardware. So far, there is no real difference in the specifications.
The most significant distinction is perhaps only the streaming feature. While they both support streaming, they have different streaming apps. Both have integrated SteelSeries Engine, but Tobii EyeX uses the XSplit Broadcaster while SteelSeries Sentry has built-in SteelSeries Streaming app in the SteelSeries Engine, prepped for Open Broadcaster Software (OBS).
