Fitbit Blaze Vs Fitbit Alta

We have been talking about Fitbit Blaze quite a lot lately, but we haven’t compared it against the other model from the manufacturer that is also heavily popular on the market, Fitbit Alta. Well, not yet, until now. On this chance, we are about to discuss the differences and distinctions between Fitbit Blaze and Fitbit Alta. Of course, Alta is the cheaper one between the two, while Blaze is quite pricier, so we can expect that the Blaze comes out having more features and functions. Perhaps Alta possesses more value per money spent?

Design
Without really putting them side by side, we can tell that Blaze and Alta are very different from each other in terms of design. Fitbit Blaze is bulkier and heavier. It still comes with an elastomer wristband, but the display screen is especially elegant and neat. The display screen is a rectangular color LCD touchscreen, protected by a surgical-grade stainless steel frame. On the contrary, Fitbit Alta typically looks slim, thin, and compact. The model looks like something that an easy-going person would like to wear. The monochrome OLED tap display screen fits the size of the wristband, which, though appearing trendy, may not provide as much convenience as Fitbit Blaze in controllability.

As usual, like other Fitbit models, both Blaze and Alta are rainproof, splashproof, and sweatproof, but neither is actually submersible and none is recommended to be used for swimming. Would you please to see Fitbit Blaze Vs Microsoft Band 2?

Features and Connectivity
Just like other fitness trackers, Fitbit Blaze and Fitbit Alta works by connecting to your mobile device via Bluetooth to sync data. They are both compatible with Windows Phone, Android, and iOS. However, Fitbit Alta boasts for having a longer maximum syncing range, as it can be as far as 30 feet away from your mobile device and still work well. Fitbit Blaze’s max range is only 20 feet.

Both models are able to track and record common fitness information such as steps, calories, distance, sleep time, and activity time. They can also provide text notifications, working integratively with your mobile device. However, Fitbit Alta indeed lacks altimeter and heart rate monitor, while Fitbit Blaze has both. As the effect, there are some features in Blaze that are not present in Alta: floor climbed counter, multi-sports support, and especially real-time heart rate monitoring. Fitbit Blaze can also give you music control, if you fancy listening to some music while working out.
